Evan Thomas Way
For the past 10 years, Evan has been making music with the folk-rock band The Parson Red Heads, touring the states many times over, and releasing 3 full length records and countless EPs. About 3 years ago, after accepting the position of Pastor of Worship & Arts at Door of Hope Church in Portland, Evan helped found and run Deeper Well Records alongside Josh White (Telecast / The Followers / Pilgrim). These events served as catalysts for the songs that now make up Only Light, his debut solo record.
Only Light is his first overtly Christ-centered record, recorded over a period of 4 months at Bungalow 9 Studios in Portland, with the help of the large rotating cast of musicians from the Deeper Well Records family.
Filled with dynamic performances, the album hearkens back to the music of the 1970’s Jesus Movement – taking you through cosmic country, slow burning Americana, lush CSNY-like harmonies, and orchestrated psychedelic instrumental passages.
